Ahhhh!

You know how you have moments where you just wanna run screaming from the house, pulling your hair out, and have a nice year long break from your horrible, I mean adorable, children.

Eesh! That's how I've been feeling about Kara lately. I need some mommy wisdom help from my wise friends who might still be reading this sadly neglected blog of mine.....

So first, she won't be 3 until the end of Oct so she's still 2. But the child REFUSES to take any sort of a nap. I've tried laying down with her, turning on quiet movies, locking her in her room... nothing works. The problem is she NEEDS a nap. She just gets so cranky and run down and I don't know what to do. She never really acts super tired until around 5 or 6 which obviously is too late for a nap.... HELP.

Secondly she stinks at potty training. I think we've maybe gotten number 2 twice in the potty and that may have been a fluke of sitting for number 1 and happening to go number 2. Number one is hit and miss... she has good days and bad days... But on her good days I wonder if I'll do damage by just throwing in the towel and trying again later... is that true or should I just stop and try again in another month or two or more.......

Thirdly, she is a mischievous DEMON lately. Constantly unrolling toilet paper rolls and dumping out entire bags of chips and jumping on them among other things... EEeeek!!! Any tips on that?!

I swear this child will be the death of me! So any tips on how to reign back the beast?!?!?!

I seriously love her! She can be the absolute sweetest thing ever but lately she's just been pushing my buttons! HELP!

She sounds just like my Tommy! He just turned 3 in the end of July. No suggestions, SORRY!! But I totally know how you feel!

Oh,Nicolio! This made me laugh so hard (and I needed one). Someday it will make you laugh too. She will be potty trained and appreciate unstomped chips before she starts school. Just enjoy. It goes too fast, and we don't know that until it's over.
Maybe don't insist on a nap, but a rest (and hopefully a nap) with a book and a timer. It worked for my sister. Love you.

You don't really know me, but we have mutual friends.... My wise mother once told me, "I've never known a child to start Kindergarten in diapers." She's right. It'll happen. 3 or 3 and 1/2 is not too old so try to relax. My sister's girls were both 3 and 1/2. She was struggling with them so she just went back to diapers and acted like she didn't care one way or the other and they both potty trained themselves one day in about 2 hours! Just something to think about... As for nap time, I don't know cuz my kids have all been completely over naps as soon as they hit 2 years old! But I do understand the crankiness around 5:00 so GOOD LUCK! You have a cute family:)
