HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAN!!!
I had to dedicate a post to my wonderful hubby on his 27th bday. I love this pic of him (the smile on his face is priceless) (he's a huge duck hunter since we moved to utah so I'm sorry to all you that will be grossed out by this pic)
Anyways- so happy birthday hun!
In honor of his fave passtime I tried to make him a duck cake for his birthday- it so didn't turn out as well as I had hoped but I'm slowly learning about cake making through trial and error... I also sculpted a duck boat and some guns out of fondant to go along side the duck. (I made the duck bill too heavy and I couldn't get it to stay up without a cup under it- and the little white collar of feathers looks more like a neck brace than part of the neck but oh well- next time...)

Cool cake! Unfortunately I am one of those who was grossed out by the duck picture. I have a hard time looking at a squashed bug.
It's hard to be too grossed out about the ducks when Dan looks so happy and proud of himself! Great cake Nicole. When we're all living on the same street, will you make my kid's cakes? Because they're going to be sooooo jealous when they see what Scott and Brock get!
I think the cake looks great and I love the little boat to go along w/ it. I enlarged the pic of Dan and yea it was a little much! But HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAN!!
Happy Birthday Dan!!! Nice pic i am used to dead animals i have pictures of me standing next to dead deer handing from a tree but not ducks. Very cool cake Nicole!!! I also like your new header. i need to do a new one...how did you do yours?

Was that 11 ducks I counted?! Does he stuff ALL of them? You'd be living in a (dead) bird sanctuary by now.:)
But I do have to say - love the cake! I'm going to take a cake class this fall and I'm so excited about it! (Nerdy, I know)
