I ran 13.1 freaking miles!!!!

Yes sirree- I did it and it dang near killed me! I ran a half marathon and survived!

I ran it with my dad. I was so stoked I was able to keep up with him the whole way! He did the St. George marathon on his 50th birthday 4 years ago and I was finally able to do a 1/2 with him. It was awesome to have him to run with! He was my motivation and I know I wouldn't have been able to run the whole thing if he wouldn't have been there. ;)

My friend Karli did it the week before in Disneyland and is apparently hooked! Me on the other hand will probably not run for another few months... and after that probably never more than 6 miles tops!

But man it was empowering and I feel like a rock star! I ran the entire time! And did it in 2 hours and 16 min and 58 seconds. (Click here to see for reals if you don't believe me! :) I was 238 out of 331 runners. :)

This is us running the very last stretch... Dan was our rock star photographer! He even ran along side us the last stretch snapping random pictures! (thanks babe!)

It was definately an experience I'll never forget. I'd like to say things like I was able to reflect on my life during that time, or since accomplishing that goal I plan to go on to do bigger things... But no- It kicked my butt and humbled the crap out of me but to be honest- I think I did love every minute of it except the last 20 and I am incredibly proud and glad I did it. Will I ever do another? Probably not- but now I know that I could :)

OK- so in this next picture- check out the guy behind us... This guy apparently had the worst sort of nipple chaffing that lead to alot of bleeding! Can you say OUCH!!!!! I think I saw 3 different guys with that problem after the race! OUCHIE!!!!

Wow! Way to go Nicole. Hott Mama is right! That guy with the nipple problem is disgusting. It reminds me of that episode of "The Office" where they run a marathon. Only it was funny. In real life...not so funny.

i am so freaking proud of you! there is a trend going around our ward and with our friends to do run and what not. me not so much at the moment :) i don't know if i would ever do a half though. a friends of ours had the nipple problem too. so sad. i guess they learn after the first time to at least tape them or something.

Congratulations!! You and your dad look so cute! Your time was AWESOME! My mom got all of us started on this too--so it must be some Pace sibling thing. (LOVE the "Pace Setters" sign!) I have done three, improving a little each time, but still not as fast as your first--so I am truly impressed! I do them to remember Christy, I do them to be with my family, I do them to try to stay in shape, but I pretty much hate the running part still :)

I didn't know the chaffing could really happen! I totally thought of Andy when I saw that picture!
It was funny on TV but it kinda grosses me out to see it for reals!
Good job on your race! You're awesome!
