When we got home we had some people over and Dan was upstairs talking to them. I ran next door for something and while I was gone Brock climbed up on the counter on the stove, opened the microwave and fell straight back and hit the back of his head on the edge of the island. OUCHIE! It split his head WIDE open! We knew it was bad so we took him into the after hours clinic.
This is just a shot of his bloody hair...
But he was still willing to smile! :)
I'm gonna post some pictures so if you are queasy stop reading here....
I'm serious it's NASTY!
Like way nasty- the cut went all the way to the bone...
OK you were warned!
Here is what the cut looked like after getting the hair cut from around it...
It was so wide and long it required 7 stitches! Brock was such a CHAMP though. He only cried when they did the lidocaine shots and even then only for a minute. He kept giggling during the stitching part saying the Dr. was tickling his head. They strapped him onto this board called a papoose board. He thought it was funny he was all wrapped up... I love that kiddo!
The picture is blurry but there is the 7 stitches...
On the way home he was happy and singing and wanted a red slushy so that's what he got. What a trooper! This is him at home with his slushy and bloody shirt. But still that huge winning smile!!
Anyways- it was definately a memorable way to spend our anniversary but really great to get to see Dan be such a rock-star dad with his kid in pain. I love him more than words can say! He's my rock and my world and he rocks my world!!! Yayers!
Love ya Dan! Thanks for 7 great years with many many more to come!!!!!
You can see the blood on Dan's shirt from carrying Brock to the car after the "accident". What a good daddy!

Poor Brock! He sounds like a trooper-my girls would have screamed & cried the whole time.

OUCH!! He is one tough kid. We have done the papoose board before and my kids did not think it was funny at all! Way to go Brock! And Happy Anniversary!
Poor kid. That gash looked nasty. At least you'll never forget this anniversary!
No joke the same thing just happened to my nephew last week, but he got 5 stiches, not 7.
