Scott's first fish!

Funny story. Dan has a little fishing boat and he and 2 friends and Scott went out fishing saturday night. After a little scott just complained and complained and wanted to go home and Dan was getting so tired of it. Nobody was catching anything. Scott kept reeling his line right in and having dan put it back out because it had a hook on it scott wasn't allowed to cast himself. (With the little rubber fish at the end he's actually super good at casting) anyways- So dan drops his line right off the boat and turns around to fish on the other side of the boat. A few minutes later Scott kept saying "I got a fish!" He'd been saying that all day so no one believed him and noone was watching him. So Scott kept saying it and then they all heard this splashing next to the boat and looked over and sure enough Scott had caught a little 2 lb catfish and reeled it in and pulled the rest of the line to the point that the fish was right next to the boat splashing trying to get away. So Scott was soooo excited and immediately started asking dan if he could eat it. They got home from fishing at like 9:30 (it doesn't even get fully dark until a little after 9). Scott was so excited telling his fish story over and over and so proud he caught the only fish of the day. And kept asking when he could eat the fish. (We just said tomorrow and stuck the fish in the freezer) And this morning the first thing he said when he got out of bed was- when are we eating the fish? So for lunch I did a naughty thing and told him if he changed out of his church clothes I would get the fish ready to put in the oven. And so while he was gone I just got a chicken breast out of the freezer and we cooked it and put some bbq sauce on and Scott thought it was the best tasting fish ever! (Catfish are just stinky and kinda gross and I wasn't gonna clean it and dan didn't really want to and so we tricked our sweet boy... sorry we're bad parents hahaha)

You better fry that fish! Fried catfish is the best! I eat it all the time. Ask Dan what the point of fishing is if he is to much of a baby to have to clean the fish? :) Tell Scott congrats on his first fish.
