Scott's Party with his buddies

So Scott's 4th birthday party was a success. It was a swimming party- two blowup pools and a slip and slide- fun times!! Alot of cake was eaten, alot of fun was had and I'm glad it's over. I learned an important lesson- I'm never again inviting that many kids to one party at once. We gave out 8 invites but several people brought along siblings and the number grew closer to 15 kids. Yes it was chaos and yes Scott loved every minute of it.

The cake- so it didn't turn out quite as I had hoped (I wanted to do a full track and stadium) but Scott desperately wanted his real cars to fit on the track so it turned into a half track. Anyways- it was a ton of fun to make and tasted really good. My fave was the piston cup on the back. It's like playing with Play-Do for me. Too much fun... (The gray and lightning bolts look wet because I had just brushed them with a little water to get off the extra powdered sugar (you use it in place of flour so the fondant doesn't stick while you roll it out) So my first attempt at a somewhat molded cake (the stadium seats made out of another cake cut to fit) was a success... Now I just need another excuse to make a cake... maybe 4th of July?!

Just a pic of what it looked like before frosting and fondant...
