Dear Inventor/Maker of the Bulb Syringe:
First off I want to thank you for making such a functional product. Not only can you help out a sick baby with this item, but you can squirt water, blow air in someones face, and I'm sure many other useful things...
But I have a few questions for the the geniuses behind this nifty little gadget. When making this product, did anyone ever stop to think how the unsuspecting newborn would feel about this item? First- the tiny person is sick and has boogers up their nose that are obviously making their life miserable. Next- the mother (or father but usually the mom gets left with the "dirty work")- shoves a blue pointy thing up their nose and more often than not the babies little nostril is smaller than the tip of the syringe and so you really have to kinda shove it up their nose so that it can do any good. Next- the mom the baby used to love and trust unleashes the suction and sucks the snot out of the poor kid- although to such a small new person- it probably feels like she's after his brains or something with how hard she's sucking the living breath out of him! And as if that wasn't enough- the mom has to do this over and over again until all the boogers (or most) are gone and the child is probably screaming bloody murder thinking his mom has gone insane and is trying to kill him by sucking his living breath out of him over and over again through his teeny tiny stuffed up nose!!!
Now seriously- is there not an easier way to accomplish this? In a world where a computer can fit on a pin head- is there no one out there able to come up with a gentler way to "aspirate" boogers out of a newborns nose. Maybe something a little less drastic and "life sucking"?
A gentle constant suction that would slowly accomplish the task and perhaps a smaller tip that wouldn't have to be rammed so hard so it fits inside a babies nose?!
Again- I want to thank you for your product as it has helped thousands of babies to breathe easier- but again- who's the genius who refuses to upgrade this invention?!?!
Sincerely yours-
Kara's Mom

nicely put! gosh, andrew HATED when i used it on him so much! i always felt so bad!! :(
That was so funny! Evelynn actually did better with it when she was younger, kinda strange.
I love this post. It really had me laughing! Hopefully something will come of it!
I have always thought the "booger sucker" was some kind of ancient Chinese torture tool. It has just been redone, in plastic! The sad thing is that it's the ONLY thing that does get the "stuff" out.
(I started a blog so I could leave annoying comments on yours! Ha, ha, ha.)
Nicole,
This is the BEST blog yet. I was just sucking boogers out of Desmond and I thought he was going to die. He was screaming and screaming. I had to do the lay you down put your head between the legs kinda thing so he wouldn't move. What kinda torture is this. But, the sad thing is that I wish I could do it on my older kids just to get all the boogers out. I know I am obsessed with sucking boogers. Ahhh What have I become.
I LOVE THIS POST!
