Holy Brock!

So my 2 year old is definately in his terrible two's! But not in a terrible way- in a "what on earth were you thinking" way!!!

So friday afternoon- I popped some popcorn for the boys to snack on while I cleaned for the company that was coming. Then Friday night- Dan got stuck at work late- the baby was screaming- I had dinner on the stove and was trying not to burn it- and Brock walks up to me with red watery eyes saying his nose hurt. I look down and he looks up and low and behold- I see a popcorn kernal stinking out of his nostril! So I turn off the stove- pop a binkie in the babies mouth and haul Brock upstairs to get out the tweezers. I lay him down and I can see another kernal in the second nose hole even further up! So I pull out the close one- and- SURPRISE- another kernal in nostril #1! I'm laughing at this point and Brock has decided it's kinda funny too!

(Let me leave the current story for a moment and tell you about what Scott did when he was the EXACT same age. We were at my friend Amanda's house and Scott decided to stick an airsoft pellet WAY up his nose! Well somehow I had some divine inspiration to do CPR but plug only one nose hole to pop the ball out and it worked like a charm!)

So I try the CPR thing on Brock and no air will come out his nose but Brock sure thought that was funny- having mommy do such a strange thing!! So I resort back to the tweezers. I pull the second kernal out of nostril #1 and- SURPISE!- there's yet another kernal way back in there! (I'm laughing as I write this- what a spaz my child is!!!) Anyways- I get the first kernal out of nostril #2 and- SURPISE!!!- there's another kernal WAY WAY up in that nose hole!!! At this point I'm getting a little freaked that I may have to take him to the ER to get these dumb popcorn seeds out of his nose! I try the CPR thing again and still nothing! So I use my "Operation" skills from way back in the day and carefully extract the third popcorn seed out of nostril #1 with the tweezers while trying not to poke the poor kids brain! (not that it would matter since the kid is obviously kinda funny in the head to stick 5 kernals up his nose!!!!!) But the final kernal I could see in nostril #2 was way way up there. No matter what I tried I couldn't get the final kernal out with the tweezers so I was really starting to freak out... So I did a surprise final attempt at CPR and POP! Out came the fifth kernal! Thankfully no more surprises up there. (Apparently Brock knows how to block his airway so when you blow in his mouth it won't come out his nose so the surprise attack worked like a charm- a boogery wet charm that was freaking disqusting but a charm non- the less!!!)
And yes- Brock shoved 5 popcorn kernals up his nose!!! Why?! The world may never know...

And if this wasn't enough- after I finished making spaghetti for dinner and finally got to feed the baby- Brock decides it would be cool to head bang his dinner and use it as hair gel! (Scott and I had been playing alot of Guitar Hero that day so maybe he was feeling inspired!) Anyways- here's Brock's version of Punk Rock a-la-spaghetti!

I was laughing the whole time during this post. I remember coming over that day at Amanda's after Scott's incident. You are an awesome mom! I don't know if I'd be laughing while all that was going on. I'd probably get annoyed and then panic once I realized how many kernals were up there! Brock must keep you on your toes!

Talk about a creative problem solver! I have to say, that sounds like such a boy thing to do. Let's hope that Kara will give you a break in that department. :)

That is so funny! And guess what? Z shoved little pieces of cereal up his nose today! I decided to plug one nostril and told him to blow boogers. Out they !
Thanks for a fun read! You've got great kids!!

I never would have thought to use CPR. That was a truly hilarious and inspiring story. But now I'm really scared! Schyler just discovered his nostrils and was going up with the raisin the other day. Oh, and I loved Brock in the last pict.

You know I had to take Kiana to the Dr. the other day to get a polly pocket shoe out of her nose. She just kept sniffing it up and it was brown so I couldn't see it. Next time I am coming to you.

The part that made me the maddest about the whole shoe up the nose thing is that she did it on purpose because she wanted to go and see Dr. Wynn. Yes, my daughter has a very un-healthy obsession with the Dr. I saw her playing around with the shoe and her nose and I told her not to put it up her nose other wise she would have to go to the Dr. to get it removed. (I thought it was a threat) But, apparently I just encouarged her to shove it up there as far as she could go. Ahhh kids what would we do with out them?

That is so funny! I told Dave and he was laughing so much. That was a great idea to do CPR. I sure hope Evelynn doesn't pull anything like that.

I have to say I wan't surprised at first (I was there when Scott did the airsoft thing at Amanda's house), but then you kept finding more and more! That is so funny and oddly bizarre.
