My cousin ROCKS!

I went and visited my grandma and my aunt today who also live in Vegas. I saw my cousin Aaron for only a few seconds and realized I need to give props to this kid more than I do.

My cousin Aaron is one of the coolest kids I know. He was born with Spina bifida and is in a wheelchair. He has taken being a wheelchair to the coolest of cool levels. He is the frontrunner of wheelchair skating. He's termed it "Harcore Sitting" and is starting his own company! (You can check out his website at hardcoresitting.com. He's the only person or at least the very first to land a backflip in a wheelchair. He's gone to various skate camps and hits the skate parks in Vegas all the time. Basically this kid is totally inspirational to anyone he meets- he never let anything in his life limit him. He's gotten some donations and is working on building hardcore sitting into a bigger company and wants to make getting wheelchairs fit for skating into the hands of kids like him who don't want to be limited by being stuck in the sitting position! Anyways- he's my hero so I had to give him a shout out on here! He has his own wikipedia listing... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aaron_Fotheringham

OK- so I can't get videos to post on here-- ugg! But you have to check out the video section of his website. The second video is the best one. It has some clips of him when he was just starting out to show you how far he's come... My fave part is almost to the 3 minute mark it shows him working with another little guy in a wheelchair trying to teach him some stuff. And that's what he's all about. He wants other kids in his position to not feel limited...

Anyways- so yeah- he rocks! My fave quote off his site is
"I don't want pity. What I could really use is some competition." - Aaron Fotheringham

So yeah he rocks!

And yes we're still having a great time in Vegas- I'll post pics when we get home next week!
