So I decided to go running on Monday. It had been kinda rainy but the street was dry and there was a little sun so I thought- I'll get in a quick 1/2 hour and be home before the next rainfall starts... As I was walking out the door Dan asked me if I was going to take me phone in case I got caught in the rain. I laughed and said- "Don't worry I'll be fine- I can walk home in a little rain..."
Famous last words...
I get almost a mile from my house when it starts to sprinkle so I turned back and within like 5 steps the sky opened up and it started raining pretty hard. I tucked away my earphones and my GPS so they didn't get wet. At first it was kinda fun for like 2 seconds then it started hailing!!! Seriously hailing! Not big ole balls that would knock me out be like little ice pieces pelting me as I'm trying to run home- I was bookin it through this neighborhood and it's pouring and hailing and a few people that were standing on their porches must have got a pretty good laugh watching me just drenched trying to run in the downpour. And it did pour! Like worse than your shower downpour!!! Like the streets went from dry to overflowing gutters in like the 8 minutes it took me to get back home....
By the time I got home I was SOAKED! Luckily all my gear survived. But the funniest thing was that while the front of me couldn't have been wetter- the back of me was totally dry! Anyways- I learned my lesson not to underestimate the rain clouds in Utah!
Here's a quick pic I had dan snap when I got home- notice the underside of my shirtsleeve is dry... and yeah- those are my sexy orange sweats- you know you're jealous!!
