Fun times in Beaver.... and some funny Brock stories..

Dan's Grandpa has a GIANT band organ in the cabin. It has pipe organs, a saxophone, an accordion, percussion things and more. It plays songs off paper with holes punched in it like a player piano. Anyways- my kids think it the coolest thing EVER! And beg Grandpa Vern over and over until he plays it.... So much fun! Lots of dancing and jumping was involved!

Then the kids spun on the chair for a while. (that's Marie- Katie's daughter.)IMG_0131

Kara was in unusually cute form. She found this magnifying glass and would walk around the house with it held up to her face! So cute! Then she tried on hats.

At one point I couldn't find her for like 5 minutes. Then I found her chillin behind a couch, sitting in a box, eating pretzels and an apple she'd found which brock has abandoned...

Scott and I played battleship a ton. It was this electronic version- it was kinda cool. As you can see- Scott's "strategy" was to make designs with the pegs...

OK- on the way home- Brock from the backseat yelled "Mom- look I have a Beet!"
Now you have to know 2 things about Brock to appreciate this...
#1- he LOVES bandaids- he asks for bandaids for his "injuries" 500 times a day. He'd bonked his hand on something before we left and insisted on getting a bandaid and Dan obliged.
#2- he calls mustaches Beets. We have no idea why... he's just weird like that...

Another funny Brock story before I go... Brock thinks he can whistle. Like the loud kind where you put 2 fingers in your mouth and it is really loud. Well Brock puts his fingers in his mouth and squeals and thinks it's whisteling. Sometimes he'll be in one room and I'm in another and he'll keep making that "whistle" until I come and he'll look up at me all proud and say "My whistle called to you and you came!"
Well the other day at dinner he told us that when people whistle they say "Fer Werp!" Ummm Say what?!?!? Yeah apparently when Brock hears a whistle he hears the words "Fer Werp" So he proceeded to show us his whistle and sure enough- when he whistles he just says the words "Fer Werp" as high pitched and as loud as he can. Seriously this child has the most intriguing thought processes!

Oh and the other day he was sitting on the couch and jumped up and bolted for the bathroom- I followed just to see if he needed help. He jumped up on the stool and stared at himself in the mirror and stroked his eyelashes. He saw me behind him and said all intrigued and serious "Mom- these are eye-blashes."
"Oh" I replied, "who taught you that?"
He thought about that for a second then replied "Our mother."
"Oh really- who is our mother?" I asked.
He thought about that for another minute and then looked up and me and said with a proud smile- "Grandma JoJo" (My mom.)

That brock... Keeps me entertained!!!
