“Oh Sweet Sadie! is an Art & Gift Show and crafty Academy wrapped into one fantastic event in heart of Utah, the mecca of all things creative (we’re hitting Las Vegas this year too!). Dani Lassiter and Heidi Loewen have hosted over 5 years of seasonal-weekends-extraodinaire, where several dozen talented artisans and vendors come together to sell their hip and fabulous wares. It has grown into a getaway event with an opening night party (live music, fashions shows, giveaways, and food), an 8-class Academy complete with supplies and yummy catered meals, and of course, shopping galore.”
There are so many of those classes I would love to attend- sa-weet!!!
Then the bad:
OK- so if you know me- you know I'm not a huge fan of dogs at this stage in my life. I have enough babies- I don't need another thing to worry over.
**Update- we finally talked to the kids more about getting sally a new home so she wouldn't bite their friends and the boys started BAWLING! And offering to not have friends come over any more so that we could keep the dog. I'm worried we may be stuck with this mutt. I worry that it may scar them to get rid of her. Scott kept saying- I just don't want us to forget her if we never see her again. Sad!!!***
Our dog Sally, 2 yr old dashund/ pomeranian mix, is a stellar dog for the most part! She doesn't bark all that much. She obeys pretty darn well. She cleans up the crumbs under the table. She's 100% tolerant of the kids. :)
But she has 3 really bad habits. She digs out of the back yard if we leave her out there alone for more than 15 min. But then she just sits on the front porch. She barks and tries to get through the fence at the new dog behind us. (but the other dog encourages her) And she nips/bites at little kids that come over on occasion.
It's this 3rd point that has put us over the edge. She only does it when I'm not in the room except for once recently. I feel awful but I always thought that kids were exaggerating when they would say she did this, but I finally saw her do it and I guarantee she's been doing it to visiting neighbor kids since we got her. The worst part is the last 2 times she's done it, it was 100% unprovoked. She literally snuck up and jumped up and nipped 2 different little 4 yr old girls hands on 2 different days. I'm just not ok with that!
But I feel this insane sense of guilt over getting rid of her. I guess I just need validation that it's ok to pass on a dog to a new home. Plus it's like our 4th dog we've had since we've been married- we're like a doggie foster home- we let em live here a while then we pass them on...
So if you know an older couple or a family with older kids- this dog would be PERFECT! She really is such a sweet sweet dog...
And the doggie:)
