a little surprise R&R.

So I was a little bit sneaky this past week. My lovely sister has been camping out in Provo the past 2 weeks since she didn't have school and her boyfriend, Rob, lives in Provo. Anyways- I asked her if she'd wanna come babysit sometime while she's here, maybe even overnight. And to my thrill she said yes!

So I began plotting a secret night for the hubs and I. My hottie lil bro david, who is single by the way (anyone have a hot single girl in the 22-24ish range?) Anyways- he works at a Best Western in Provo. So I called him up and he HOOKED us up!!! He got us a STELLAR deal on a room. And get this- since no one was in the suite, the manager upgraded us for FREE! Fo shizzle!

So I was planning this for monday night. But then sunday morning at like 4 am I woke up freezing. Only to discover our heater wasn't heating! Eek! I ran to Walmart to get some space heaters since, ironically, it was the coldest night expected for quite a while. Yuck- a whopping 5 degrees or something when I checked at 5. Awesome! So I was stressed thinking that this may throw a wrench in my little plot. But then our AWESOME heater guy rescued us and it turned out it was some switch on the furnace, (some internal one that only furnace guys know about) that just needed to be flipped back on or something. And 10 min later we had heat again! Hooray! So that little problem was narrowly avoided.

So Monday afternoon I called Dan with my white lie that my aunt (who was actually in town) was staying at David's hotel and that I was gonna go meet up with her and take the kids swimming. And I wanted him to stop by and say hi. He took the bait!

The kids were stoked to have Cortney babysit but as I walked out with our pillows the boys got all concerned and were like, "Where are you sleeping?"
I replied, "In a hotel."
Their eyes lit up- "Does it have a pool???!!!"
Another white lie- "Nope= sorry"
Boys- "Aw man!"
Brock- "Wait- right when you get there mom, check if it has a hot tub!!"

It did indeed have a hot tub. And a pool. And a GINORMOUS jetted tub in our suite! It was decadent! And a rockstar breakfast! Waffles, breakfast pizza, bacon, omlets, and so much more. I HIGHLY recommend the Cottontree Best Western in Provo!!

Anyways- needless to say Dan was very happily surprised to find me alone in the hotel room with no rugrats to deal with. ;)

We enjoyed our alone time and went out to dinner alone and slept without any little sweet people waking us up. It was heaven! I highly recommend an over night sneak away to all my couple friends! It's so nice to have alone time with the spouse! And the surprise made it alot more fun!

*Mushy parts coming up...*

In church on sunday, we are in the Marriage and Family Relations class. (Mostly because the teacher is the most amazingly awesome woman in our ward who is actually a marriage and family therapist. so she not only has the bomb-diggity-est personality, but she's got amazing info and knowledge on the subject.) But also because who wouldn't want a happier marriage!

Anyways- in class she was talking about eternity. And asked why we like to know it's out there for us. And I laughed and she asked me why I was laughing. And I replied that right now in our marriage we are in the thick of the baby years. Changing diapers, not sleeping, up to our elbows in raising little people. And our us time is few and far between. And to know that we have ALL of eternity to spend together is sometimes such a sweet thought that it is so comforting!

Anyways- I so so so love my amazing husband and I'm so looking forward to eternity because for us, marriage just keeps getting better and better!!! Sigh!

Sorry to get all mushy but I want my kids to be able to read this years and years from now and know that their mommy and daddy were always hopelessly in love! :)

Very well put! I loved reading the mushy stuff and I might just take up a sneak away too. So I guess, if it happens, Dave can thank you!

I remembered that you guys had just stayed there when I bid on Priceline and got the same hotel. Came back to read about your experience-sounds fun!! Though I don't think we're getting a suite :)
