So do you ever have a morning like this....
You didn't sleep good that night- whatever the reason- and you dread moving your big toe because it takes too much effort but you know you're out of milk and diapers and you have to go to the store. So you try to hurry because you have to go to WalMart because they have the cheapest diapers and the lines are a pain in my heinous after like 10 am so you're trying to drag your tired sorry butt out of bed and get your kids up and moving so you can beat the lines at WallyWorld. 2 hours of dragging and begging and screaming and your kids to stop picking their noses and trying to squewer each other with wooden spoons, you're finally ready to walk out the door. When you realize that all you did that morning was get dressed- a quick glance in the mirror almost brings tears to your eyes as you realize how horrendous you look with no make up and your hair looks better than this right after you get off the lake after wake boarding and then having it wind blown dried in all the wrong directions. So you think- hey maybe I could pull off a hat- but problem 1- a quick glance outside at the gale force winds and random snow flurries on a seemingly warm spring day tells you a hat wouldn't work plus problem B- you don't have a hat.... hmmm-- you glance over and your 2 year old is trying to take off his shoes you took 20 minutes to track him down and wrestle him to the ground and shove them on his feet- so screw the hair- You opt for the classic too busy to care sunglasses on the head as a make shift headband because no one expects your hair to look just right when they are under a sunglasses on the head as a make shift headband because of course you just shoved the sunglasses from eye protection position to hair accessory position in 0.2 seconds so of course you'll have hair sticking out here and there right?! Well that's how it would look on a day like this if I tried to take 15 minutes to put an actual headband in today anyways seeing as my hair needs to be washed and curled but it's so not happening because if that 2 year old gets those shoes off then you'll lose your window of opprotunity before all those prim and pressed moms hit the walmarts with thier hair all done and their perfect children who are perfectly dressed with their hair all done just right who sit so nicely in the carts and walk so calmly next to their moms and never scream and cry because they want a transformer or a box of oreos.... So you run out the door- no makeup- multi-function sunglasses clutched in your hand and praying you don't run into any ex-boyfriends or anything.....
Am I the only one who has mornings like this- cuz that was totally me this morning-
CRAP- I have to go- I hear my sweet 2 year old in the bathroom dropping something that sounds like bath salts on the ground and probably unrolling and entire roll of toilet paper again for the 5th time this week..........

oh yes, i have those mornings all too often, and i only have one kid!!! good luck to me once the second one is here, right?;)
Hahaha! Nicole! I love you! It's true, that you have to have a sense of humor to be a mom. I love hearing that other people have days like me too! It makes me feel a little more normal!
I am so glad I am not the only one with these kind of days. I hope today is better. I am scared for how crazy things are going to get when the third one arrives.
did you write that? if so you have a great way of putting life to words.
Nicole you're so funny! I can't imagine having 3 little kids right now. But when I do, I can see days like this happening. It's good you can laugh about it instead of getting discouraged. Having one right now, is crazy enough for me. Take care!
You are such a good writer! I always love reading your blog esp little things like this. And I think your a great mom with wonderful kids...even if ya'll aren't so perfectly dressed! :) And here in Lousyana your look would actually be dressed up! Imagine that! Hope today is better. And I just caught up on all of your other posts and I just love all the pics esp the dog pile on Kara...what an action shot!
multi-function sunglasses ???
First time i have heard of those type -- hehehe
That's motivation that you even went to the store with all of your kids! I would have reverted back to the caveman days of cloth diapers and powdered milk until the hubby got home to watch them. Kuddos to you!
