I was at a meeting on Sunday and someone mentioned people being too comfortable in their spot in life and how that can be a bad thing.
Well I have officially been trying to go outside my comfort zone lately! It all started with the 1/2 marathon probably.
Then I chopped my hair off.

I've also been trying to be more put together. Like I try to wear jewelry more often. And wear a full face of makeup at least 2-3 times a week. (rather than just eyeliner and chapstick.)
I'm also taking a dance class. And since I have very little coordination when it comes to dancing and zero grace my poor dance teacher has some serious work ahead of her :) But it is soooo much fun!!!
I also went to a shoe party and bought some serious high heels. I have one pair of high heels in my closet that I bought for a Valentine's present for Dan one year and that's as much as I'll say about that but they're strappy and not the kind I would wear to church on sunday...
So I decided to buy some real heels! And I think I overshot the mark. They are white spike heels like 3 inches! Cute definitely but I felt like such a dork trying to walk in them. I really felt like I looked like a man trying to walk in heels- you know like you see in the movies... Yeah- it prob wasn't as bad as it felt in my mind but it'll take some practice and a lot more guts before I try that again... And dang they were so uncomfortable! Here's a picture for ya...
Anyways- I'm not trying to get comments like "Oh you looked fine" "I don't think you walk like a man" I'm just telling the world of my latest adventure... :)
Oh and my next adventure is dressing up big time for halloween! I'm attempting a Princess Peach costume. So if you see me dressed up and I look like I'm wearing a crazy barbie/glinda/princess looking outfit. Maybe just try to smile and say something like- "great princess peach costume" even if you can't see it! It'll really help my pride. Thanks :)

I totally agree with you. I am so comfortable with how things are. I have started making small goals for myself, but I think I need to be more drastic. It is funny how when you are a kid/teenager things are good no matter what. Now that I am a wife and mom I don't go outside of what I am comfy with. I need to do more. Maybe I will follow in your footsteps and buy some heels. I don't even own one pair. Good for you. And I LOVE your hair by the way....
When I buy a new pair of heels, I wear them around the house to get used to them! I carry Jake, cause ya gotta make sure your heels are kid friendly! I do the dishes in them... :)
I'm excited to see your heels! SASSY!!
