Milk sensitive much?

Grrr. So I have 4 children now. And so far only one has really done well breast feeding. My first was just always cranky and acted hungry or upset after nursing. We lasted a month trying just nursing and the second we tried formula to supplement he was like a new baby! Baby number 2 was a champion nurser and never had any problems with it. Baby number 3 had horrible diaper rashes from day one while nursing and was always upset from it her first 2 weeks of life. It took trying like 6 different kinds of formula to find one that worked but once we did- again- like a new baby. Now Molly is pulling a combo of Baby 1 and baby 3. She is getting worse every day though. Yesterday she just cried all afternoon and into the evening and finally we gave her a bottle of soy formula and BAM- new baby! She slept good last night and has been chipper until this morning when I decided to try a little more breast milk- just to test- and she started fussing after 2 min of that so we switched to soy again and bam- again happy baby.

WHAT GIVES! How are my children allergic to me! (And yes- I've tried going off milk- I haven't had any in like 2 weeks!) Gr! Oh well- at least we know what makes her happy right?! I'm not anti-formula. But I love nursing. And I love the way babies smell. Babies get a funny stinky smell when they drink soy formula... sigh...

Payton did the same thing. Unfortunately we did not realize the problem until he had been put in the hospital twice because he was loosing weight. I didn't even know that was a possibility. Silly babies.

And good luck with the yucky soy smell. Use baby phisoderm and lots of good smelling lotion. :)

That is frustrating! But when you smell the soy smell just remember it is better then holding a good smelling screaming baby! :)

That sucks!! I'm sorry! I wish we were still in Utah so I could give you the boxes of Soy Formula that my husband brought home from work just a couple of weeks ago...I looked at it and said, "What are we going to do with all of this?" Bummer!!

That is frustrating! They sure do let us know when it's just not working out for them don't they? I wish ya the best with the soy. Happy babies are much better!

I am sorry but a happy baby is so much better than a pretty smelling baby. Atleast you tried and that counts for something! She is cute though!
