So first off I want to do a shout out to all the amazing friends and neighbors who have been so awesome to us the past few weeks. Dan and I were talking last night and although we've only been in this ward less than a year we have had more dinners and baby gifts dropped by and more offers for help than with any of our other kids. It's been so awesome- so thank you to everyone who called to check on us, dropped by a gift, brought in a meal, took the kids for a bit, or just dropped a note on here or on facebook. We feel SO loved!!!
That being said though, we're coping and doing pretty good. My sister and Dan's sister have been coming over a bunch to keep me company and to help entertain the kids which has totally helped. Everyone still loves Molly, even her sleep deprived mother ;) And we get patches of good behavior where I get some things done. Dishes and laundry are already started today so that's a plus and I cleaned the kids bathroom already kind of. So progress gets made here and there but it's more of a one step forward 2 steps back most days as Kara and Brock seem to follow behind me and just make huge messes where ever I have cleaned :)
But my mom had this little saying sitting on her dresser all while I was growing up that I just keep thinking back on...
Cleaning and Scrubbing can wait till tomorrow
For babies grow up we've learned to our sorrow
So quiet down cobwebs and dust go to sleep
I'm rocking my baby and babies don't keep.
I LOVE this poem for so many reasons! Not just because it gives me a little excuse why my house is thrashed but because it reminds me to keep life in perspective. There are some things that will always be more important than others...
Anyways- so life continues on. :) I'm trying to prep the house for the blessing weekend(Which will be March 28th at our church... let me know if you need more details :)
Scott is still loving his Martial Arts class.
Brock is still crazy and silly and just Brock.
Kara is getting too grown up and wants to go with the boys whenever they leave the house and cries when she gets left behind.
Dan is still Dan- with his car projects and signing up for all sorts of hunts and now getting busy with scouts and still making time to keep me sane and smiling.
And I'm just trying to ride out this newborn phase and I'm looking forward to the wonderful beautiful Utah summer! My yard is popping up all sorts of bulbs and flowers and plants. It's really neat! I love spring!
Life is very very very good. Even with no sleep and a messy house, it's very very good.
(As a side note- blogging totally helps me vent and realize that my problems are small and manageable and that I really do LOVE my life. Even with it's bumps. So if it ever sounds like I'm having a bad day, I guarantee it's 90% better after I blog it out... :)
And 2 pictures for today-
My baby who's getting chunkier by the day= (I love me a chunky baby!)
And my 2 year old who's growing up way to fast!
