So I wanted to start the year out with updates on each of the people in our little family. Then maybe a little down the road, look back, and see just how far we've come! :)
I LOVE my kiddos- I'll do a little section on each of them but they just love to play together. Their latest thing is they all get in Kara's crib as soon as she wakes up in the morning and they all just play and play in there... It's pretty darn cute!
I'll start with Scott...
If I have any gray hairs right now, it's probably because of Scott. This kid can really give me a run for my money. We are both stubborn as mules and not going to bend! It's like the Zax on Dr. Suess. Of course it's hard to say who wins- I usually send him to his room if I think I'm right.
But then there's the times that I cave like a parent of a spoiled brat and he gets what he wants too much of the time...
But dang it if I don't love this kid more than life itself. He's so sweet and chill and amazing most of the time. He loves to learn and has been loving kindergarten. He LOVES all things boy and lately that includes Star Wars, Wii games, fart jokes, etc. (He got this sweet get-up from a Star Wars themed birthday party he went to- isn't that so creative and fun!! He told me he was using the force on me in this picture!)
He's such a social little fella and wants to be playing with friends 24-7. Which the 2 last statements can cause a problem since he plays with 3 little girls down the street alot. But it's helped since Kara started getting lots of girly toys like Princesses and castles and things... Now when they play Scott goes off to defeat the bad Clone Droids and the girls guard the castle and take care of the babies... And I always talk about it but the kid has killer taste in music. His latest thing is electric guitar. He really likes 80 rock songs and such. But Scott loves to be a big brother and help teach his little bro and sis how to have fun. He and Brock can play so well together (of course they can fight like cats and dogs but isn't that what brothers are for?) (This is them just being weird!)
And Scott is so sweet with Kara- he tells her she's so pretty and cute and he loves to help her walk and stuff... It's SOOOooo cute!
And on to Brock.
If I had to choose an era Brock belonged in it would be the hippy era. He looks awesome with long hair, he's so chill and zen like, he'd so much rather give hugs than throw punches, he wanders around singing nonsense songs and dancing. He's just hilarious. Of course he has his mean streaks and temper tantrums but those are kinda rare it's kinda nice.
He loves to create things, he could play with a tub of blocks for hours and hours.
He's really easy going and loves to laugh! He also loves his siblings and loves to do anything Scott is doing. He likes to snuggle with Kara even though she hates it and tries to claw him if he tries. He loves to learn as well and is slowly learning the sounds of the alphabet. He thinks bathroom humor is the best thing since sliced bread. And he LOVES to sing! Anyone that's around him knows that. He will make up and BELT out any thing he can imagine up in his head. He has a few favorites as well which usually include The Zebra Song... He is just such a silly little person he definately keeps us highly entertained!
Last but not least, my baby girl!
She's such a chill easy baby girl! She loves her bottle and isn't planning on giving that up any time soon (go ahead and try :). It's so funny to see the difference in boys and girls at such a young age. She chooses girly toys, necklaces and dolls over the over abundance of cars and boy toys we have floating around the house. She's such a snuggler and I LOVE that! She's finally slowly starting to walk but I still haven't been able to catch it on camera or on video since she's very particular about when she decides to walk and refuses to do it on demand!
She's definately got a huge underlying stubborn streak but she's chill about even that. She also loves to laugh and dance like her brothers. Her favorite game is to chase around the house. And she thoroughly enjoys a good game of peek-a-boo. Her unfortunate love is TV. This child would watch TV all day every day if I let her. Her fave is the Backyardigans which has saved our life on road trips lately. Her hair finally started getting longer- long enough in fact that we had to trim back her bangs just a touch since it kept getting in her eyes...
She's still only got the 6 teeth really. 4 on top 2 on bottom but one molar is starting to come through. Growth chart wise she's right around the 50% all around I think. She's just my little sweetheart and she's definately got all the boys in the house wrapped around her little finger especially her daddy! And she is such a daddy's girl!!!
Speaking of Dan, he's a stud...
He loathes having his picture taken which is funny with my obsession with my camera. I snagged this picture which is rare because 99% of the time all I can catch his him with his tongue out since like I said he LOVES having his picture taken. He's just a stinker like that...
But he got a new toy last week. A flame thrower torch! Yeah for reals! Every boys dream.
(I use the term flame thrower very loosely since I think it can only "throw" flames maybe 2 feet or less...
He spent a few hours outside last weekend burning the snow and ice on our drive way. We ran out of salt and it seemed like a good idea but he ended up creating huge puddles of water which turned into mini ice skating ponds on our driveway and sidewalks. So please watch out if you walk past our house!! But Dan always has some project going somewhere. Right now he has I think 4 trucks in the building stages... Aside from the one he drives! I guess when you have unlimited access to car parts it's hard not to start projects like that. Anyways- it's been a slow year for hunting so we've enjoyed having him around more on the weekends! :) I love this man and soooooo appreciate him going to work every day so that I can stay home and blog... oops I mean stay home and take care of the kids and the house... :)
And me- I have no pictures of myself since I'm always on the other side of the camera. I have this one I took with photobooth on our mac of Kara and I from a month or 2 ago....
I've just kept myself busy lately trying to stay sane! I dabble in photography to give myself a little ego boost every now and then when I "create" a cool picture! I'm desperately LOVING my new camera (Canon 40D) I got for Christmas! (Thanks Joan!) I am in LOVE with our new Wii fit! It's a good workout- the little voice of the fit board on there tells you good job every two minutes (and it's a really cute little voice!) Plus it's fun! I'm all about fun!! I love food and music! I made this KILLER Cafe Rio pork the other day and my mouth waters everytime I think about it!!! I'll post the recipe later... I got some new songs on iTunes I'm thoroughly enjoying... (The Way I am by Ingrid Michaelson and Pony by Erin McCarley) But I almost always have my iPod playing when I'm down stairs. I have this chill mix Dan's sister gave me most of the music for that has like John Mayer, Jack Johnson, Sara Barrilles, Gavin Degraw, Jason Mraz and people like that- I love chill music!! Oh and Dan and I have been loving watching TV shows in DVD form. TV with no commercials is the BEST! Dan got me the How I Met Your Mother box set (seasons 1-3) and we've been staying up way too late every night watching a few episodes. So highly entertaining! We've taken a break from our usual Office Episodes since we've seen all of those at least 5 times!
Anyways- life is good- in fact life is amazing! And I'm just enjoying the ride!!!

You are amazing with photography. And you have really cute kids. It sounds like Kara gets about the same treatment at your house as Livi gets at mine. It is sooo fun to have a girl.
