Youth Conference (funny story)

So I went to Youth Conference on thurs and friday of this week. I didn't have my camera but hopefully I'll be able to track down some pics of us from some other leaders...
We had a GREAT time! We actually had to come home a day early because my one YW that went (yeah we're a small ward) had to come home for a Dance competition.

Anyways- the funny story... So at YC I didn't know any of the other leaders so I hung out with the girls mostly. At the dance me and this group of girls were all rockin out to Thriller and then a slow song came on. As I'm bee-lining it off the dance floor to snag one of the chairs on leader row a young man that was hovering during Thriller steps in front of me and puts his hand on my elbow and this is our conversation...

Boy: Do you want to dance?
Me: (totally flustered and trying not to laugh) Ummm- Actually I'm a leader and I don't think I'm allowed to...
Boy: (totally flusetered as well now)- oh ummmm
Me: I'm sorry... (trying not to laugh again)
Boy: Oh ummm it's okay ummmm I thought you looked my age ummm it's okay (He bee-lines back to the dance floor)

How awesome is that! Three kids later and I still got it!!! BooYA!!!!!!!

To the poor 16 year olds defense- I came up with some reasons why he may have mistaken me for one of the youth...

1) I am pretty hot and I have some serious dance moves on the dance floor!
2) but seriously- the lights were pretty low
3) I was surrounded by 16 and 17 year old girls
4) I guess I kinda dress like them.
5) I'm short...
6) Refer to #1!

I could see how a mistake could be made

But yeah- I'm still so stoked I kinda passed for a 17 year old girl that a guy would actually ask to dance...
